Discovering the EURO District: Les Cafés Sati and the Nationalpark Schwarzwald (Ruhestein) - 20.02.2017

Joined by our Partner school "L'Atelier Ecole de la deuxième chance", we visited Café Sati in Strasbourg at 8.30 a.m. Café Sati is one of the largest regional coffee roasters in the Alsatian region. The managing director, Mr. Nicolas Schulé, presented the coffee history in a one-hour-presentation. The interesting and informative presentation was followed by a plant visit.

At 10:30 a.m. the bus picked up the second group at the Beruflichen Schulen Kehl. After a one-hour-ride across the black forest we arrived at the Ruhestein where we were welcomed by the so-called "Schwarzwald-Pädagogen", Matthias Eberspächer. He introduced himself and we began our tour across the Nationalpark Schwarzwald. We examined the various animal pawprints and a deer's fur. In addition, Matthias told us how to define the age of a tree. After our walking-tour we had lunch at the Ruhestein tavern.

On our way back towards Kehl/Straßburg we talked a lot about this impressive trip.

On Saturday, July 2nd, 2016 the Rhine riverbank of Kehl took place for the second time. 182 persons took part in this challenge. This number includes 59 children and youngsters. The event was organized by the athletics department of the "Kehler Fußballvereins (KFV)" (soccer Club of Kehl). Our grammar school was represented by Jessica König (WG 12/1), Louis Lettko (WG 12/1) and myself.

As to the 5 km mixed team evaluation, we came in third.

Thanks to Jessica and Louis for your support.

Offenburg City Run 2016

This year, the Beruflichen Schulen Kehl have participated at the Offenburg City Run. All in all, we have announced seven teams, who wanted to tackle the route of 3 x 2,5 km. Unfortunately, two teams could not participate due to injuries. Yet, we were lucky with the weather this year; all students mastered the route challenge without major problems. Especially the team "BSK 1" (see results) consisting of Kira, Jessica and Jonathan is to be positively highlighted. Achieving a time result of 32:31 minutes, they missed out on a podium position (3. winner).

The sports department would like to thank for the great commitment.
